Founder and philosophy

“We can never allow quality to slip for the sake of production.”

Sayeeful Islam, founder and Managing Director

In the early 1980s, Sayeeful Islam, a chemical engineer trained at Texas A&M University, left his career in the United States and returned to Bangladesh, convinced that the young nation could grow through mass employment, particularly of women.

With his partner in life, entrepreneur Sabrina Islam, he founded Concorde Garments in 1981, one of the first garment factories in the country. What began in a 400 square foot space now supplies woven garments to brands around the world.

Why in-group interlining matters

Interlining is the critical input for a crisp, stable shirt. Supplying it from within the group gives buyers three advantages.

  • Supply security: the critical fusing input sourced in-group, insulating your programme from shortages and import delays
  • Speed: interlining moves group-to-group in days, not months
  • Engineered compatibility: fusing and interlining developed together for dependable bonding
  • Sustainable at source: OEKO-TEX, RCS and OCS certified interlining lines
